Office and commercial building in Berlin-Tiergarten
exceptional landmark building in the City West
Together with Benson Elliot, Klingsöhr has successfully completed the purchase of a centrally located, nine-storey office property from Berliner Volksbank eG. The transaction included the acquisition, the letting to Berliner Volksbank, an architectural workshop and the obtaining of a building permit for a 15-storey office tower with 19,500 m² of lettable space: the new landmark building The Westlight.
Built in 1985 as the headquarters of the Berliner Volksbank, this prominent building had a rentable area of 9,548 m² with a view over the Berlin Tiergarten and the high-rise buildings Zoofenster and Upper West. The new building, designed by Grüntuch Ernst Architekten, has an unmistakable octagonal structure with a glass-brick façade and LEED gold certification, making an impressive architectural statement. The main tenant is the law firm Greenberg Traurig.
